Waltz · G major
NORWEGIAN M.T.B. SONG
Waltz in G major, as printed in the band binder; no composer credit printed.
Sheet music transcribed by eye, unverified
Needs an ear. A model read the notes off the binder photo; nobody has played it back against the sheet yet. The chords are the ones printed on the sheet. Confidence: medium.
Transcriber's notes (which bars to listen to)
Handwritten, legibility good, no credit printed; the word WALTZ is written small above the left of staff 1 (type label). No pickup; 32 bars, checker clean. Doubtful points: (1) high notes on staff 2-3 (bars 18-19, 26-27): G heads sit on top of the top line and A has a small ledger tick; read as G5 (g) and A5 (a). (2) third quarter of bars 1, 3, 9, 11 read as E5 (between lines 1 and 2) but bars 17 and 25 as D5 (on line 2) -- the staves are tilted, so these near-identical heads should be checked by ear (G B E vs G B D). (3) bar 28 has a printed sharp before the beamed second eighth (read C# = ^c); everywhere else C is natural. (4) bars 5, 13, 21, 29: D F A quarters; the F head is low (between F and E) and read as F (F# in the key). A dot after the A in bar 13 and one above the A in bar 5 are read as stray. (5) bars 7, 15, 23, 31: handwritten chord letters D / E / F# / G under the three notes with E and F# underlined and a dotted line beneath (walk-up bass line) -- transcribed as chord symbols placed on each note; bars 7 and 23 carry E D C, bars 15 and 31 carry C B A. (6) a thin+thick bar line (no repeat dots) after bar 16; a pencil arc sits over the final double bar (bar 32). A small pencil box mark sits between the D and C eighths in bar 20 -- not transcribed. (7) bar 20 and 28 eighth-note beaming read from hand-drawn flags/beams. Chords as written: G, D7, D, E, F#, C.
Press play and the notes light up as they sound. Chord names above the staff are coloured by their root letter (the same colours as the song sheets). “Standard” and “Richer” are General-MIDI stand-ins hosted elsewhere; “Scruffy” is our own bank rendered from open sample sets (credits at /soundfont/scruffy-v1/CREDITS.md). Tempo slider is the “warp” control in the player.

Where it came from, where it went
How this setting was made. The notes and chord symbols are read from the band binder sheet (photo IMG_0268), by a model reading the photograph on 2026-10-27. The sheet's own chords are carried over unchanged. Nobody has yet played it back against the sheet: treat every note as a draft until it has been checked by ear.
