Reel · D major
St. Kilda's Wedding
Reel in D major, as printed in the band binder; no composer credit printed.
Sheet music transcribed by eye, unverified
Needs an ear. A model read the notes off the binder photo; nobody has played it back against the sheet yet. The chords are the ones printed on the sheet. Confidence: medium.
Transcriber's notes (which bars to listen to)
Checker clean [x]. Page is a phone photo with perspective/curl; staves straightened and read against a computed pitch ruler; no glare. Doubtful points: (1) bar 2 beat 3-4 sits below the staff on ledger lines: read as B3 (quarter) then A3 and C#4 (eighth pair) -- low notes on ledger lines, ear-check; (2) bar 8 last pair read D4 then B3 (ledger line). (3) Tiny specks right of the third note of each beam group in bar 1 and bar 3 look like print specks, not augmentation dots (bar lengths only add up without them); not transcribed. Structure printed: stave 1 = |: A part (3 bars + 1st ending bar |1 ... :|, 2nd ending bar |2 ... thin double bar); staves 2-3 = B part of 8 bars with no repeat sign, ending on a final thick bar line. So AAB as printed (A repeated, B once). Rhythm in bars 1, 3 and 2nd ending: two sixteenths + eighth (or eighth + two sixteenths) groups, written D/D/D etc. Chords as printed (D G A); 2nd ending has only G. 13 printed bars (12 + the extra ending bar). Header text printed on the sheet: 'reel' (small, right). No credit printed. Faint show-through of the reverse page at the foot; ignored. No handwritten marks.
Press play and the notes light up as they sound. Chord names above the staff are coloured by their root letter (the same colours as the song sheets). “Standard” and “Richer” are General-MIDI stand-ins hosted elsewhere; “Scruffy” is our own bank rendered from open sample sets (credits at /soundfont/scruffy-v1/CREDITS.md). Tempo slider is the “warp” control in the player.

Where it came from, where it went
How this setting was made. The notes and chord symbols are read from the band binder sheet (photo IMG_0317), by a model reading the photograph on 2026-10-27. The sheet's own chords are carried over unchanged. Nobody has yet played it back against the sheet: treat every note as a draft until it has been checked by ear.
